Our Wills team works closely with local and national charities operating Will writing schemes.
Charity Will schemes involve us in preparing a simple, straightforward Will at no cost to the client, in exchange for them leaving a legacy to charity. All our lawyers assist with charity Wills, but Sarah Nicholls is particularly involved with these schemes.
We are part of the National Free Wills Network through which we have raised more than £2m of future income for the charities that belong to the scheme. The National Free Wills Network enables participating UK charities to offer ‘free Wills’ to supporters who are willing to leave a legacy to their chosen cause. There are currently 197 charities involved with the Network, many of which are household names.
In addition, we have been taking part in the Cancer Research UK Free Wills Scheme since 1999. During this time we have generated over 162 pledges, which are valued in excess of £2.5m.
We also regularly take part in various Free Wills Week for local charities.
Here is some feedback that we have received from clients who have made charity Wills:
“We heard of these solicitors through the RNLI national free wills network and rang and spoke to Jenny Halsall who was very informative and arranged a meeting with Sarah Nicholls, who explained everything to us in detail, gave us our options and made the whole process very straightforward, it took a great weight of our minds.”
“Sarah and Jo were very helpful and allayed any fears or concerns about my Will and who my beneficiary is.”
“Sarah was easy to talk to, she talked me through the will process. She was very efficient and made me feel relaxed. The whole process was quick but thorough. I would highly recommend Sarah Nicholls to write your will. Thank you Sarah for all your hard work.”
